Why Spinning Kick Is Unsafe For Real Fight

My friends from various martial art dojos once discuss about this topic on martial art hobby forum, most fighting sport dojos ban any spinning kick techniques today.

Spinning kick was popular acrobatic kick used by several dojos. To attract young new students, they use acrobatic kick like in action movies or video games.

The fact is, spinning kick is stolen technique from Capoeira. Hilarious, Capoeira was created for martial dance art, not real fighting sport. Their spinning moves created for aesthetic - acrobatic dance.

Reason why most fighting sport dojos are not recommend spinning kick is because the users are often suffer lot of injuries (both in fighting tournament or street fighting). Most common injuries are back brain and spine bone damage.

The opponent can intercept the spinning kick user easily, using faster straight attacks to the back brain or the spine bone. Of course, straight moves always faster than spinning moves.

Circular moves like Hook Punch, Round Kick and Elbow Swing are still more realistic than spinning kick. Circular moves are still helpful in close range - clinch position where straight moves are unable to launched well.

Even a heavyweight - fat wrestler who lack of speed can catching the spinning kicker from behind, then using rear choke techniques to immobilize the spinning kicker easily.

People more clever and smarter nowadays, science and knowledge became advance day-by-day. Of course they won't waste their time and stamine to train useless (and harmful for theirselves) technique anymore.

People more clever today, they already know how to counter spinning kicker easily. Even street thug - street robbers in my country fight better, their brawling method is more logical - realistic than showy - flashy spinning kickers (seriously!!).
