Taekwondo

Korean fighting style, also known as Tang Soo Do (Tang era) and Taekkyon (Joseon era).

This fighting style was created based on Kungfu brought from China during Tang dynasty era (ruled from 618 to 907).

Originally, Tang Soo Do was the first name used for this fighting style. Later Choi Hong Hi advocated the use of the new official name Taekwondo in 1955 replacing old Tang Soo Do and Taekkyon names.
