Karate

Ryukyu Japanese fighting style created in 13th century.

Karate began as a common fighting style among the Ryukyuan samurai class.

After trade relationships were established with Ming Dynasty (China) by King Satto of Chuzan, Chinese fighting style also introduced to the Ryukyu islands. Later Ryukyuan students created new fighting style named Karate.
